And So The Countdown Begins

Once again, we are near the end of October and here's what we HAVEN'T done yet:

  1. Picked out a pumpkin

  2. Carved said pumpkin

  3. Found Boy Pop's Halloween costume

Hoo-boy!

So 2011 is speeding to a close all too quickly. I foolishly believed that once Fall Ball ended, we would have some breathing time. I fear that is not to be and here's why (another numbered list):

  1. Halloween is in ONE WEEK and we've yet to complete the aforementioned Halloween must-dos.

  2. Boy Pop is ring-bearer in a wedding in two short weeks. I just today purchased his clothing. He had nothing. So I bought pants, a shirt, shoes, and a belt at lunch. I'm praying it all fits.

  3. One week after that, Dr Pop is leaving for the better part of a week in Jersey. I don't like when he has overnight business trips. Especially those that last several days. It's too long!

  4. One week after he gets back, we will most likely be hosting Thanksgiving at our house. Last year, we hosted 11 and I cooked every morsel myself. That sound you hear is the very faint sound of my patting myself on the back for that one.

  5. Two weeks after Thanksgiving, we are going away for a week. It will be a fun week full of snow and Christmas and snow-related activities.

  6. One week after we get back from said snow-related activities, it will be Christmas Eve.

  7. Then? The last week of 2011.

  8. Do you know how I plan to spend the final week of 2011?

  9. At. Home. Not. Working.

  10. Gotta love corporate holidays and very strategic vacation planning.

I need a nap.

Walkin' In A Winter Wonderland!

We are taking the Boy out of school a week before they let out for "Winter" Break. I think Beaver Creek will be absolutely magical in the weeks leading up to Christmas! Can't wait to hang out in the village and on the mountain with my two favorite boys!

Did I Ever Tell Y'all About Thanksgiving?

No? Well, it was definitely out of the ordinary for this family. We went to Playa. I know, I know... Playa itself is not out of the ordinary. Going during Thanksgiving, bringing Boy Pop, and going with my parents, though? Well *that* is definitely a new experience!

If you guessed that it was a great trip, then you guessed correctly! We all had a ball! Boy Pop declared that he wanted to live there. My parents were impressed by the resort. Everyone was relaxed and it was an all-around relaxing trip. I was surprised considering that I tend to get a tiny little bit stressed out when vacationing with my parents.

My dad told Dr Pop and I that he could not remember a time in his life where he spent more than two consecutive days doing nothing. This man is a hard worker! And even his vacations turn into work because they always have to GO! And DO! And EXPLORE! And OMG, I'm exhausted just thinking about it! I know how they are, though, having grown up and gone on vacations with them. Every single place is treated as though we will never return, so we have to squeeze every single drop of sightseeing, museum hopping, ruins-finding fun out of every single minute of every single day.

That's not how I roll anymore. Dr Pop cured me of that. On our vacations, we sleep. We eat. We lay out on the beach, then move to the pool. We go out to eat and find local bars to hang out at. Sometimes, we will take a day trip somewhere. Explore something new. And this trip? Was no different. And my parents adapted extremely well to the doing of the nothing.

I thought it was all so very amazing until I realized one important detail... Just watching Boy Pop swim and play and run and build sandcastles and perform on stage? Well, that is enough to keep anyone entertained for a week!

A Good Hair Day

A couple of weeks ago, Dr Pop and I decided that it had been long enough, and that Vegas missed us quite a bit. So we went. We had a great time, too. We gambled, we drank adult beverages, we shopped (check out my new purple platforms in the picture!), and we ate a fabulous meal at Delmonico's.
But the crowning achievement of this trip was not the gambling. It was not winning a pile of cash. It was not the room (OMG, LOVE THEhotel at Madalay Bay!). It was definitely not the 7+ hours sitting in the sports book on "NFL Championship Weekend" (It never occurred to me to leave Dr Pop and go pull on some slot machines or shop). It was not trying and loving a new restaurant. Oh no. Because even though this trip was so much fun and super-fabulous, there was one thing that I could not shut up about from Saturday on... In fact, I still cannot shut up about it. So much so, that I went out and bought a new hair dryer when I got home.
The crowning achievement during that trip was my hair.
I'm not known for having good hair days. Usually my hair looks frazzled, frizzy, damaged, and shows an inappropriate length of dark roots. Hey, I've abused my hair over my lifetime. It's getting better, but I live in a humid climate and I like sleep more than primping, so my hair gets short shrift in the mornings.
On Saturday in Vegas, though, I achieved perfect hair all by myself, armed with nothing more than the hair dryer supplied by the hotel (THEhotel) and a round brush.
I made Dr Pop take pictures so I would have proof. I did it!
It's the little things...
And though I have not been able to recreate it 100% since we got back, with my new hair dryer, I've come pretty darn close!

Lather, Rinse, Repeat*

So. Today is Groundhog Day and I might be the only person on the planet who is happy that he saw his shadow. Where I live, we do not have much of a winter, normally. No snow, 60-ish degrees, etc. To some people, that might sound like heaven (my apologies to you folks living in cold locales). To me, though, it is mundane. Repetitive. A level zero on the excitement scale.

I like things that are out of the ordinary to shake life up a bit. Travel helps with that, but what I really like are those times when the day-to-day takes a brief pause and then goes a bit nuts for a minute or two. That's why I am glad that we will most likely see six more weeks of winter down here instead of an early spring. Those six weeks give the weather a chance to happen. Dammnit! I want an ice day! I want an extra day to work from home and to keep Boy Pop home from school! So there!

Plus, when you get to experience ALL the seasons, you can truly appreciate each one. I cannot wait for that first gorgeous and warm spring day. I'm looking forward to sitting outside and having a nice meal and maybe a drink or two on that day. But not before it's time. I'm weird like that. I don't want that day to come before my stay-home ice day.

Don't get me wrong. I like mundane most days. After all, the little routines are what make up the day to day life. Those first few minutes of the day when I'm trying to get my baby boy out of bed and ready for school, work, coming home to my family, sitting on the couch and watching a reality show, playing, laughing, eating, playing games on my phone, swatting my husband's behind as he walks by, watching them fly remote control helicopters, tae kwon do, t ball, running, etc, etc, etc... This is my life and it is darn good.

But every now and then we all need a little excitement to shake things up a bit, or else we will all be living in the cycle of a particular movie named after today. That is part of the reason I love my husband so much... He gets it. He likes the out of the ordinary as much as I do. And if we cannot get a winter here, then by DAMN! We'll just go to an ice bar in Vegas!
*Another rambling post by your's truly with no real point other than hey! I like to travel and I like cold weather and I love my life!

A Taste

The Pops spent this Thanksgiving in Playa del Carment this year... We took advantage of the trip to take some Christmas-y pictures.
I'll most likely post some stories and photos next week. I'm one of only a few who will actually be working, so I should have some time on my hands to do a little writing.
At least, that's my hope.
And if not? Well then, Merry Christmas from the Pop family!

It is time...

But this time we're going to the other side of Mexico.

4 Weddings, 3 Trips to Mexico, 1 Trip to Vegas, and 1 Visit to Sea World

I'm TIRED!

2009 has been the year of the wedding and I am totally NOT kidding! The past 10 days were a complete whirlwind as 3 of our 4 weddings were in that time slot. That's right. On a calendar, we had three weddings in eight days.

It has been wonderful to witness our friends and family profess their love and devotion to each other, though. Each ceremony and celebration was unique unto the couple and each was a perfect fit. And in their own ways, each wedding reminded me of my own.

One ceremony was on the beach, one at a hotel, one at city hall (we just went to the restaurant for the reception), and one was a full Catholic Mass. And still, each one was full of the same love and hope and passion that my own held.

Besides the weddings, we have traveled more in 2009 than ever before. I've enjoyed the trips and the family time immensely. Dr Pop and I partied it up in Vegas, relived our own wedding in Cancun, took Boy Pop to the beach with us... TWICE, and got to experience Shamu through the eyes of a 5-year old.

It's been quite a year. Magical, even. And even though I spent a good part of the time stressed out over tiny little nonsensical things, I have loved and held onto each second. For these are the memories I never want to lose.

The past 6-months have been a non-stop ride. I'm happy to have had the opportunity to do so much. But I think I'm ready to be low-key for a while...

Too bad school starts in 15 days...

More Vacation Photos

Since I didn't really post any pictures of the grounds, I thought I'd share a few quick hits here:

One side of the pool. Above, Boy Pop was committing the sin of washing off early morning beach sand in the shallow end.

Looking back toward the resort from the beach.

The style of the hotel took after the old Spanish Forts.

This was taken out of our window.

Gotta Get Some of These Posted!

You know, because we're going back there in a month!

This past Memorial Day Weekend, we took Boy Pop to Mazatlan. It was the first time we've taken him with us on one of our Mexico vacations and we all had a ball! It was a quick trip (3 nights), but we managed to pack lots of fun and relaxation into every second.

Mazatlan is on the west coast of Mexico, just north of Puerto Vallarta, and pretty much directly across the Sea of Cortez from Cabo San Lucas.

The resort was easily the most lush, green, and beautiful resort we've ever visited in the country. The seas were calm-ish and we had no fears of large riptides or undertoes (sp?) (of course, we only waded out to our knees, but still!). The swimming pool was salt water, too, so my hair was grateful.

I really cannot wait to go back and do some more exploring. We made one effort to go into town and visited both Old Town Mazatlan and the Golden District. We searched for a restaurant that Dr Pop's mother had visited about 42 years ago and while we had confirmation that it was indeed still there, we were unable to find it. But we did get to ride in a cab that is unique to Mazatlan. A pulmonia. It's an open air taxi built on a Volkswagen frame. Highly dangerous! But not hot at all since we had all that wind blowing at us.

I'm so happy that we were finally able to experience the beach with Boy Pop. He loved every single minute of the trip and can't wait to go back! Little does he know that I booked our return trip this past Wednesday.

Meet Iggy

This past weekend, the Pop family took a much-needed break from the chaos that is organized t-ball, Tae Kwon Do, pre-kindergarten graduation, an over abundunace of family intrusion, and extremely stressful work life to spend Memorial Day weekend in Mazatlan. This trip was the first time Dr Pop and I took Boy Pop with us to Mexico. I have so many pictures and stories to tell, but I thought I'd start with one of our lunchtime visitors.

Meet "Iggy":

This iguana was hanging out in the bushes next to our lunch table on Sunday. He barely took any notice of the three of us, so I took the opportunity to run and get my camera. Boy Pop and Dr Pop took the same opportunity to try to feed him.

Unfortunately, the birds swooped down and stole every french fry they threw his way. Getting tired of this, the iguana moved from his position in the sun, through the bushes, and under the barrier fencing.

He wanted to get closer to the action:

Boy Pop decided to call him Iggy and proceeded to feed him about half of his french fries and a good portion of his ham sandwich! We got tons of video of the entire process, but for some reason I cannot get it to play right. So you'll have to settle for a picture or two.

Iggy the Iguana hung out with us for a good 20 minutes. He kept waiting for more food. But I think he must have finally gotten full! A bunch of french fries and some ham will probably do that. And yes, I know I should be appalled that my son fed part of his lunch to a wild iguana rather than eat it himself, but on vacation normal rules do not apply.

Iggy was one happy iguana and my kid was ecstatic! I think he wants one for a pet now. Lord help me!

Oh Hi!

How ya been? I've been great. Still having writer's block. But not really writer's block. More like, I have so much to say that I cannot put two coherent sentences together these days to actually tell you about it all.

I guess sometimes you let it go for so long that when you finally get around to updating, it is just so overwhelming! I mean, I have MONTHS of updates to do! Or so it seems...

So. We went to Vegas in February. Dr Pop's company paid for the whole thing, put us up in a suite at the Wynn, gave us gambling money, bought us dinner for two nights, took us to see La Reve, and allowed us to party our arses off. We both won pretty big on the Craps tables. And I hit a couple of times on the slot machines. So this trip goes on record as the first time we have left Vegas without spending a penny of our own money and still came home ahead on gambling. Pretty damned cool. I can see how a person could become addicted to the life.

While we were in Vegas, my parents were with Boy Pop, who was getting used to his cast. Stupid broken ankle! It took four different doctors with three different opinions, to finally get an acceptable and agreed-upon timeframe for the cast. Four weeks. This past Tuesday, he finally had it removed. Hooray! While he was in the cast, he managed to still get his orange belt in Tae Kwon Do Tiny Tigers, AND play t-ball with a pinch runner. Nope. The cast didn't slow this child down one tiny bit! Thank heavens!

After Vegas, we came home for two very hectic days. My parents stayed with us while we both worked, washed a ton of laundry, and packed for a week in Mexico. I don't know if I mentioned this before or not, but we went back to the same resort where Dr Pop and I were married 6 years ago. This trip we celebrated by going to the wedding of two dear friends.
It was fun exploring the resort (The Moon Palace, if you're interested) and seeing the changes that have taken place between visits. Our first visit to the resort was in July of 2001, after Dr Pop and I had been dating for about three weeks. At the time there was a casino on-site. I have an almost-identical picture to the one above, taken 8 years ago, sitting in a frame in my office at home.

It was also fun to see that some things have not changed. Things like the cool swing bar at one of the pools at the resort. We made sure that we took our friends to it. A lot of things have changed over the years, but they still managed to keep some things true to the past...

I have a picture like this from my own wedding. I call these the "kissing chairs" because they are set up so that you sit next to one another and facing one another. Behind us is the gazebo where Dr Pop and I said our vows six years ago. It has changed, but our memories have not.
The past month has been a whirlwind and I cannot believe that only three months into 2009, I've already burned through over half of my vacation time! Oh well. It was definitely worth it.
I do have to say that something was definitely missing from this trip, though. I don't think I've ever felt the absence quite so deeply when Dr Pop and I have been on one of our getaways before, either.
Boy Pop.
His passport is now in process. We don't want to leave him behind next time (even if we are leaving him with his grandparents who take him on "safaris" in Texas or to Six Flags or Sea World or any of the other myriad of activities they plan).
I have more to say (of course I do!), so stay tuned...

It's So Good To Be Home...

So good, in fact, that Dr Pop and I are already planning our next adventure!

This time, we will be taking Boy Pop with us, though.

Vegas was incredible, as was Mexico. I'll have pictures, soon, I promise!

Boy Pop's ankle is healing. He has two more weeks in the cast (a pediatric orthopedic surgeon confirmed a break and extended the cast time), but that hasn't slowed him down ONE BIT. We are constantly reminding him to not run. He will be getting his orange belt (the ATA "Tiny Tiger" orange belt) at the end of the month and had his first t-ball scrimmage yesterday. He played catcher for one inning and left field the other two. And he hit the snot out of the ball!

What was especially cute yesterday, though, was the fact that he had his own pinch runner.

I'm so far not too much of a fan of the moms, though. There are less than a handful who deign to speak to me. Maybe it's because we missed the first practices and no one knows us yet. I'm not sure. But I did not enjoy my interactions with them yesterday evening. Not one little bit! I'm sure it will get better though.

I have a ton of pictures to download and upload. And a ton of work that I'm just now getting caught up on (that's what happens when you are gone for the better part of two weeks, I suppose).

When things settle down, I'll write a nice and proper post. Promise!

What I've Been Up To...

HI! I have been a bad little blogger in 2009 and I don't see it getting better any time soon.

But February is my blogiversary month and I feel that I need to stop and think about that and acknowlege that I have been a part of the blogosphere for four years now. Wow. When I started blogging I had a toddler and was a Realtor (but mainly a stay at home mom) and I was going through a personal crisis.

Now? I have been at the same job for almost 4 years, my son is 5, and after much soul searching and harping, there is no crisis in my life. Sort of. I'm no longer depressed. So that's a victory!

Every now and then, I'll pick a month out of my archives and start reading. It's crazy to look back over such a short period of time and know how much I've changed. And how much my life has changed.

I like blogging and I think I will continue to do it in some form or fashion for a long time to come. Right now, I'm neck deep in a facebook obsession, though, so the ole blog has suffered. There isn't enough time in my day for both! ;)

In addition to my "blogiversary" month, this is my birthday month. In a few days I will be 35. I think that is hitting me kind of hard. I feel old. I look at pictures that were taken a few years ago and I see the changes in my face. I also realize that I am my own worst critic!

February has been an extremely busy and stressful month. It started off with work stress and while the stress at the job has lessened to some extent, there are some other things there that make for a busy work day. I take so many things personally, that if anyone is unhappy with the product I sell, I feel it internally. It is definitely a fault of mine. But it also makes me incredibly good at what I do (recent results notwithstanding!).

We signed Boy Pop up for Tae Kwon Do and Spring Competitive T-Ball. What were we thinking?!?! It's been busy and hectic to try to get all of the activities in, but what a blessing TKD has been! He's already preparing to test for a new belt level! And we are definitely excited about a t-ball league that has more games, more practice, and more competition. They will keep score. My son will learn what it feels like to win. And (possibly more importantly) he will also learn what it feels like to lose.

Oh! I almost forgot to mention this! Dr Pop was the top sales person in his division at his company last year. As a reward, he and I are headed to Las Vegas this weekend courtesy of his company. We are so excited and I could not be more proud of my husband. He works very hard and deserves to be recognized for his success. He has grown his business by leaps and bounds.

We get back Tuesday evening and are in town for two days and then we will be headed down to Mexico. We are going to stay at the resort where we were married 6 years ago and will be there for my birthday and our anniversary. The day after our anniversary, we will attend the wedding of two of our friends. It's going to be a good week. I've been killing myself trying to get into swimsuit shape three months early! I'm not there, but I've stopped really caring. I look pretty good. Not as good as years past, but still! I'm a hot mama! ;)

Even though I have written a novel, no good post of mine would be complete without a crisis. At the very first t-ball meeting of the season, the one where the parents and kids and coaches all met, Boy Pop and the other kids were roughousing. Boy Pop was pushed off a 3.5 foot high ledge and turned his ankle. He cried a little, but was up and running around within minutes. We didn't really give it much more thought. He didn't complain of pain and didn't behave in any way but normal.

See where this is going?

Yesterday, he started limping. And as the day progressed, the limp got worse. We went to TKD and he had to jump on one leg. He couldn't jump on his left leg. We rushed to t-ball practice and watched him run with a limp. We called Dr Pop's dad (a doctor). He told us to get an x-ray in the morning.

This morning came and I took him to the doctor. Diagnosis? A subtle fracture in the growth plate of his ankle.

We headed to the podiatrist and he reviewed the x-ray film. He said it might be a fracture, but it might not be. At the very least, he had a bad sprain and tendon damage. He recommended a hard cast. The good news is that it will only be on for two weeks. He is not in pain. He can walk on the cast and doesn't have to try to negotiate crutches. He has handled everything like a pro.

The bad news? It happened right before we leave for the better part of two weeks. My parents are not thrilled that he will have to be in a cast the whole time as it pretty much ruins their plans of bike rides and other activity that involves running and exertion of lots of energy.

At least his cast is cool! Orange with a glow-in-the-dark stripe!
When does it get easy?
*Oh, one last thing... I'm sitting here writing this on my laptop while my defensive driving course, the one I've had 90 days to take, the one that is due March 2nd (while I'm in Mexico) is playing on the home computer right next to it! I'm bad. But I do perform best under pressure.

Because It Is Slow (-ish)*

*And because I'm a little behind in posting pictures, haven't downloaded the pictures from Christmas, and just wanted to share...
The first family trip to Colorado (2005/2006)

The 2008 trip (notice how he's grown!)... The smile is still the same

A snowy day in Lionshead Village (Vail)

Rolling around in all the freshly fallen snow

The closed ski lift behind our condo (perfect for sledding!)

First day sledding

Dr Pop's turn on the saucer

A view from the top of the mountain

On our way up (my mom didn't ski)

Ski School

Oh yeah, we took this little trip to Colorado a couple of weeks ago...

It was a great trip. We stayed and skiied Beaver Creek, but wandered around all over the place, spending time in Vail, Avon, Edwards, and Beaver Creek Village. We relaxed, shopped, skiied, sledded, and enjoyed each other's company.

Crazy, I know!

This trip went much more smoothly than the last time I took a week-long vacation with my parents, husband, and son. We all got along for the most part and didn't have many hiccups. Well, aside from getting rear-ended on our last day. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt and Boy Pop did not even feel it. The four adults felt the impact, for sure, but we're all fine. Stupid ice on the road!

The other blessing is that the claim was filed with the other woman's insurance on the spot and Hertz actually filed the claim instead of charging the credit card.

I really have no grand stories from the trip, other than to say that my kid is a freakin' snow monster! Promoted three times in two days of ski school! He sledded, climbing the hill behind our condo over and over and over again until we thought our legs would fall off! He made snow angels. So did I. He dunked himself face-first in the fresh powder (48" over the week we were there) so many times I was surprised his face didn't freeze off.

Boy Pop was just so much fun to watch while we were on vacation. He had a blast and we had a blast with him.

My dad, Dr Pop, and I also spent some time on the slopes, skiing hard in the deep powder. Early December skiing is always iffy, and we hit it right this year. All but two lifts had opened by the time we got there (as a sad twist of fate, the lift right at our condo opened the day after we left, but we are opportunists, so used it as our own private sledding hill!). The resort was not crowded, and we never had to wait in line for a lift.

Great trip! We even had a smooth airline experience with Frontier Airlines of all carriers! In 2005, they cancelled our flight so we rented a minivan and drove the 16 hours home. Both trips (both the 2005 and 2008 trips) had endings that matched the week. One smooth flight home and one nightmare. ;)

Sushi, Ponies, and Pyramids

So... Another too-fast weekend in Vegas has come and gone. And we had a blast! One of these days, we will sit down and have a nice dinner again, instead of room service and quick meals scarfed on the go. I did learn a new trick with sushi, though. This girl was sitting next to us at the sushi bar at Mandalay Bay and ordered her roll to be made with soy paper instead of seaweed.

Here's a little side note, Dr Pop loves sushi. Me? Notsomuch, but not for lack of trying. And trying. And again with the trying! I have it narrowed down to the seaweed. It's too fishy, if you know what I mean. Anyway, we struck up a conversation and the next time Dr Pop and I go for Japanese food, he's going to order a sushi roll with soy paper and I'm going to try it! Yay! This might be the difference and then I can be normal.

We got to our hotel Friday night and immediately headed down to the casino floor to feed the slots and the craps tables. After a quick round, we were back in our room changing clothes to head up to Mix (the 64th floor club at the top of our hotel). The views were phenomenal. Better views than the Ghost Bar, for sure! I felt a little ill, though, so we left and made it an early-ish night, by not going to bed until 1AM or so Vegas-time.

Saturday dawned hangover-free, and we decided to have a lovely breakfast, including a phenomenal bloody mary, before heading over to the Sports Book and placing our bets on college football opening day. As you can probably imagine by now, we love football in the Pop household. We made our wagers, watched some football, then headed back to our room. We had decided to mix things up a bit this trip and actually spend some time at the newly renovated and expanded pool at our hotel.

All I can say is 11,000 square feet of pool and sand, thousands of loungers, a "beach"side casino, and a wave pool that included lifeguards on surfboards was definitely a new experience! Dr Pop and I took turns taking pictures of each other while we body surfed in the wave pool, then we surfed together. It was so much fun!

There's Dr Pop's turn in the water:

Then mine:

Afterwards, we went back to change so that we could take in the UT game. Which Texas won 52-10! And to think, people were questioning putting their money on Texas with a 24-point spread... HAH! That was easy money. While the games were going on, I decided to try my hand at horse betting. I spent $2 each on the long shots on three races. My horses came in last each time, darn it! Oh well. It was fun to tune into the little TVs and pull for my pony each time.

After a very full day, Dr Pop and I changed into our "going out" clothes and hit the casino floor once again. We wandered around, played craps, spent a few minutes at The House of Blues, won some cash, and took the tram next door to the Luxor. I'd never been inside that casino before, nor had I ever seen the main entrance. Dr Pop and I had to get a pic.

Here it is... THE BEST PICTURE WE'VE EVER TAKEN IN VEGAS:

Dr Pop then lost his iPhone. With his entire life on it. I could tell you the long, drawn out version, but suffice to say, after two and a half hours, we got a call from the valet at the Luxor and he had the phone. Our faith in the human race restored, we went and retrieved the phone, ordered room service at 2:45AM, passed out, woke up to the arrival of our food (heralded by a very loud banging on our door) at 3:15AM, ate, and were asleep by 3:20AM.

Sunday was uneventful. We got home at a reasonable hour. We marveled at the twists and turns this trip took us on. And we counted our money.

All-in-all, another great Vegas memory.*

*My recap of our trip would not be complete without the above photo, taken on the tram between Mandalay Bay and Luxor, of these obviously exhausted people. No amount of noise or people were able to disturb their slumber. I have my own ideas with regards to what their story is, but probably reality is much more boring.

Just Two More Vacation Photos

I couldn't resist these!

Right around the corner from our room, sat the swimming pool and pool bars. Unlike the two swim-up bars, you had to walk to this one. That was alright, though, as it had two-person swings!

Dr Pop and I visited often. In these two photos, we are chilling out on our last day with Bloody Marys and Vodka tonics.

Mwah!

*********************************

I just had to post the below photo, taken with my camera phone a little while ago.

It's been pretty damn windy here all week. Today, there was also rain combined with gale-force winds. Obviously, someone's oversized, heavy-duty golf umbrella had finally had enough.

Not surprisingly, the umbrella's owner appeared to have had enough with it as well and haphazardly stuffed it into the trash can right outside my building entrance.

I thought it was funny.
