To You and Yours...
'Twas a few days before Christmas,
When all through the blogs,
Life is still frantic,
And has gone to the dogs.
Parents were scrambling
To find last minute gifts.
They've exhausted all options
On EBay and Craigslist.
Much baking and shopping
And gift-wrapping with care,
In hopes that their company
Soon would be there.
The Christmas parties have ended,
We’ve stumbled back to our houses.
To log-in once more,
And complain about louses.
The babies and toddlers
And little kids, too,
Sing “Jingle Bells” over and over,
And again just for you!
When what to my wandering eyes should appear?
A video of Elmo saying “Happy New Year!”
The video was played,
Then the kids went to sleep.
They went without fussing,
And nary a peep.
Suitcases are packed,
For traveling both far and near.
We all take deep breaths
As we recall why we’re here.
My wish to everyone
This holiday season
Is to just take a moment
To remember the reason.
May your holidays be merry,
May your New Year be bright.
May all your wishes come true,
And may your in-laws not fight.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
