Resolved

I could do a re-cap of the success (or lack thereof) of my 2008 resolutions. But I am not. Out with the old and in with the new and all that crap. I ended up doing pretty well on most of the lengthy "to-do" list for 2008, though.

So anyway, it's time to put up some goals for this new year we are in… 2009. I cannot believe it. It doesn't seem that long ago that my friends and I went downtown and partied "like it was 1999" IN 1999! I'm getting old.

Without further ado (mostly about nothing), I am setting the following goals for myself in the year 2009:

Personal:
Continue good work with the exercise (Get back Turbo Jam DVDs from my friend)
Quit smoking (There, I admitted it in print. This is my worst habit. But I enjoy it so.)
Become a more regular church-goer (I found a good church and have really enjoyed the sermons I've heard so far)
Take care of my skin (Obagi, obagi, obagi plus sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen)
Continue to cook more and try new recipes

Family:
Create more opportunities for the three of us to sit down to dinner as a family
Be more "present" when I'm with my husband and son (and not playing games on the computer or my phone)
Give even more hugs and kisses to my son
Give more hugs and kisses to my husband
Establish better boundaries with my parents

Professional:
Continue striving for new position within my company
Dress more professionally each day
Keep my options open
Decide what I really want to be doing from 8 to 5 each day
Make a plan to get there

Miscellaneous:
Procrastinate less
Clean out and organize my home
Write
Organize my pictures
Save more money, spend less money, donate more to worthy causes

As a side note, I've read on multiple blogs over the past couple of weeks that "letting other people know about your resolutions holds you more accountable to them" or some such nonsense. All I have to say is that I have been posting resolutions on this thing for three years… Posting them doesn't hold me more accountable, it just gives me a measuring stick for the past year. It's something to look back on and think about the ways I've changed and it's a good reference point.

All the same, though, I do want to accomplish all of these things in 2009, so, maybe this will be the year I mark everything off the list as a success!

Ahh…

Hope springs eternal.

I love your honesty. ;-)

I buy my Obagi products on eBay. So much cheaper than buying them from my doctor's office.

Just an idea,
Thea

Thanks. :)

I actually get my Obagi products in my Christmas stocking each year... Love Santa so very much!

But when I run out, I will definitely try ebay. Do you have a particular ebay store you go to?
