Just another typical Sunday afternoon...

I’m sitting on the couch watching TV. I hear the smack, smack, smack, thunk of my son running barefooted on the tile at full tilt until he rams straight into the arm of the sofa next to me. He climbs up and looks at me with wide, excited eyes. “Mommy, do we have an ice cream sandwich?” “No, we don’t have any ice cream sandwiches.” “Oh.” His face fell just a little, then a light came on, “Do we have the stuff to make ice cream?” “No, baby, we don’t. I’m sorry.” “Do we have stuff that tastes like ice cream?” “No.” “Like yogurt? Do we have any yogurt?”
