Well, the end result is a lot of stuff getting thrown away.
I really and truly do NOT understand how people can be so stupid!

Gum? Like chewing gum? How does that happen?
Well, either the babysitter put her gum on something or the maid did (we don't chew much gum in our house, so I know it wasn't Dr Pop, me, or Little Pop), and it got loaded into the dishwasher by the maid and when I ran it, I didn't think to check for gum. Then it got washed.
Bug and tar remover works wonders on getting it off stuff, though. ;-)
