Today has been infinitely better than yesterday. Nothing major happened and there have been no big changes or anything, except in my attitude, I suppose.
Y'all, it is just so much easier to choose to be okay with the world around me than to walk around with a scowl. Since I can't get Dr Pop to agree that Botox is a good thing, it's better for those lines between my eyes, too. :)
Carpet cleaners are supposed to come today to steam clean three rooms of my house. This company that was recommended does not move furniture, though, so Dr Pop and I had to move toys and furniture and other various items all around so as to have more than 5 square feet of carpet actually cleaned. Okay, okay, Dr Pop did the majority of the heavy lifting this morning. Yay Dr Pop! He also vacuumed! Thanks honey for interrupting your morning to take care of that. I know how busy you are.
On a more positive note, Little Pop didn't curse at all yesterday! I'm hoping that we can make it through Thanksgiving with all the grandparents and my grandmother without a random "Goddamnit!" or "Fucker!" coming out of his mouth.
My company provided lunch today. I love free food, but I have a feeling that I'll be thankful when Thanksgiving and Christmas are over if for no other reason than I'll be turkeyed-out. Today's lunch was typical Thanksgiving fare: Turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, etc. Except that it was COLD and bland. Still, it was free, so I ate it. Tomorrow, my team is having a Thanksgiving potluck with, you guessed it, turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, etc. I hope it will at least be warm.
I want to bake a pie for the big day, but alas, I have never baked one that isn't from Mrs. Smith, though, so I'm a little nervous. I might just have to buy a pie. Now, if only someone will decide exactly what kind of pie he wants...
Okay. Enough randomness for one day.

My Dad is coming for Thanksgiving and he asked for a cherry pie. I've never made a real pie either but I found a recipe that looks good and not too hard. I'm gonna give it a shot. www.allrecipes.com and southern living usually have good recipes. Most of my good ones are from Southern Living.
Also, won't it be a great Thanksgiving moment when you're all going around the table saying what you're thankful for and it's not quite LittlePop's turn and he says "Godammit, it's my turn. I'm thankful that my grandmas and grandpas came to be with us. And for Spiderman. And Batman. And Superman. Now let's eat this fucker!"
Ohh... Thanks for the help. :) I'll check out those two places...
We have a plan for that, by the way... We know that he'll be asked where he's heard such language, and we're training him to say, "Nana." :)
