For the first time in I don't know how long...

My little section of Texas isn't the hottest place in the country! Hooray! Fall has finally fallen in Central Texas! Yesterday's high was something insane like 104. Today's high is 79. Beautiful. Simply beautiful.

I love Summer. I love the hot weather, swimming pools, laying out in the cancer-inducing sun, wearing skimpy outfits with little strappy sandals and flip-flops. I love it! But enough already! I think God must have heard our pleas for a Fall.

Fall... We don't get much in the way of specific seasons around here. The weather is pretty constant and doesn't vary too much. We don't have the "turning of the leaves" so much. But here's what Fall does mean to me:

  • Football
  • Football
  • Football
  • Baseball playoffs and World Series
  • Cooler weather
  • The onset of HOLIDAY SEASON and arguably the three best holidays ever
  • Halloween
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas!!!
  • Longer nights
  • "Falling Back" an hour
  • Long sleeves
  • The first fire of the season in our fireplace
  • Breaking out the cool-weather clothes and shoes
  • Wearing my stilletto-heeled, pointy-toed, sexy mama boots
  • Snuggling under a blanket

Welcome Fall! Please stay a while, but please make room for your brother, Winter, in about three months! :-)

I love Fall! It's cooled off here too and I'm ever so pleased.
